Fashion Thesis: Fashion

and Gender a Societal

and Retail Shift

In my last semester of Fashion School, I wrote a fashion thesis and creatively directed a photoshoot and a fashion film (coming soon.) This thesis delves into the complex and evolving relationship between Fashion and gender. This paper traced the historical evolution of genderless Fashion and beauty and the expectations of gender roles and identities, shedding light on the cultural, societal, and economic factors that have influenced these shifts. It analyzes how traditional binary constructs have given way to a more fluid understanding of gender identity and expression. It also investigates how these societal shifts have impacted the fashion world. It explores the emergence of gender-neutral fashion, inclusive Fashion, and its effect on the retail world. I also creative directed a photoshoot and conducted interviews with people from the LGBTQIA+ community and creatives with varied lifestyles, careers, and fashion styles to gain an actual world perspective on this phenomenon; see the photos below and click on the links below for the look book and to read the thesis I hope that this thesis provides valuable insight to anyone interested in understanding the dynamic relationship between Fashion, gender and cultural and societal change. And remember, Fashion and makeup are for everyone!
