Theogony: The Odyssey
The epic the Odyssey tells the story of the hero Odysseys as he travels home after the events of the Trojan war. On his ten-year journey home, he gets “seduced” by water nymphs and encounters the island of the lotus eaters, further delaying his journey home. Meanwhile, his wife Penelope is in his home kingdom raising their son, warding off men who want to marry her. I don’t see Odysseus as a hero. He is pretentious and self-centered, purposefully delays his arrival home, and neglects his wife and son. I portrayed Odysseus as a modern-day traveler with high-fashion nymphs.
